Peninsula Forest and Beach School is currently hiring Outdoor Nature Mentors. We are a nature-based program for children ages 3 and up. We offer summer camps, nature preschool, afterschool programs, private pods, and nature birthday parties in Belmont, Redwood City, Moss Beach and Montara. We operate from a child-led, play-based philosophy where "Nature is our Teacher."
We are currently hiring for the following positions.
OPEN POSITIONS:
Lead Nature Mentors
Assistant Nature Mentors
We use an emergent style approach to teaching. We listen and watch for what the children are interested in and create curriculum based on those interests. Nature is our inspiration in the types of activities we do in our programs.
A typical day might include playing games, circle time, sharing gratitude, reading stories, hiking, creek exploring, building a fairy house and nature arts and crafts.
Our classes are 100% outdoors in nature.
Nature Mentors must be first aid certified and have prior experience working with children. If you do not currently hold first aid certification, we can provide guidance on where to get certified.
This is a part-time job. We operate Monday through Friday with morning classes from 8:30am to 1pm and an extended day offering to 3pm. Afternoon classes are from 1pm to 5pm.
